Dr. Zahidul Quayyum is a health economist and a public health researcher and has more than 25 years of experiences of conducting health economics and health systems research. His research interests include: evaluating different policy changes in health care from a health economics and health systems perspective; equity and resource allocation in health care; economic evaluation of health care interventions and health technology assessment with particular interests in maternal and child health care, financing and efficiency for universal health coverage. He has more than 10 years of experiences of teaching health economics in UK universities including University of Glasgow, University of Aberdeen, University of Dundee and Queen Mary University of London. He has worked as a Health Economist in many projects including the international project, called IMMPACT, which was led by University of Aberdeen, UK and has been mainly involved in working on economic evaluation models for safe motherhood interventions strategies and the economic analysis of government interventions and policy changes for improving maternal and child health in Indonesia, Ghana, and Burkina Faso, and in Bangladesh through other projects. He has also been involved in conducting within trial economic evaluation, systematic review of economic evaluation, decision modelling and health technology assessment for the NIHR (UK) funded and EU funded projects in UK. Dr Quayyum has keen interest in working on Health Technology Assessment in LMIC settings and on Universal Health Coverage.

Dr. Quayyum authored more than 40 publications, many of them published in highly reputed international peer reviewed journals including Health Policy Planning, Health Technology Assessment, International of Equity in Health, BMJ Open, European Journal of Health Economics etc.
