Stakeholder workshop organised by the CARE project to explore how climate change is impacting adolescent SRHR

On 17 December 2025, the CARE project convened government officials, researchers, academics, and programme managers explore how climate change is impacting adolescent SRHR in one of the worldโ€™s most climate-vulnerable countries. Led by ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—น ๐—ฆ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—น ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ in partnership with BRAC JPGSPH, the CARE Project centres adolescent voices to inform Southern-led policy, practice, and curricula. This dialogue marks an important step towards breaking silos and ensuring policies and programmes respond to the realities young people face.

On 7 December, 2025, the Local Government Division (LGD) hosted a workshop on the ๐€๐ข๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐งโ€“๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐€๐๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐€๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ง ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐”๐ซ๐›๐š๐ง ๐๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐š๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ก in Dhaka. As the research partner under the ๐ˆ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐”๐ซ๐›๐š๐ง ๐‡๐ž๐š๐ฅ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐ž๐œ๐ญ (๐ˆ๐”๐๐‡๐๐’๐) with support from the ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐š๐ง๐ค, ๐๐‘๐€๐‚ ๐‰๐๐†๐’๐๐‡ presented key findings from an ongoing study supporting evidence-informed and health-focused air pollution adaptation plan for urban Bangladesh. A๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐›๐ฅ๐ž ๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ were also presented to strengthen Bangladeshโ€™s capacity to adapt to air pollutionโ€“related health risks through locally implementable, evidence-based strategies. Webinar organised on building a skilled community health workforce for primary healthcare

Organised by the Centre of Excellence for Science of Implementation and Scale-Up (CoE-SISU) at the BRAC JPGSPH, the session brought together experts from the Swiss Red Cross and Swisscontact ASTHA to share lessons from community-based approaches that have redefined how health services reach those most in need. The webinar explored how community health workers (CHWs) can bridge service gaps, strengthen health systems, and advance equitable, people-centred healthcare in Bangladesh and beyond.

Special webinar organised to observe World Humanitarian Day

National-level dissemination meeting organised on the mental well-being of community health workers

BRAC JPGSPH hosted a national-level dissemination and discussion meeting in August 2025 as part of the SHINE (Strengthening Health Systems by Improving Community Health Workersโ€™ Mental Wellbeing and Empowerment) project, funded by NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) and implemented globally in partnership with LVCT HEALTH, African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, as well as locally in collaboration with BRAC and the NCDC Programme under Directorate General of Health Services.

Professor Syed Masud Ahmed, Director of the Centre of Excellence for Health Systems and Universal Health Coverage (CoE-HS&UHC), joined global and regional thought leaders at the Regional Workshop on Human Resources for Health in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in July 2025. Co-organised by The Asian Collective for Health Systems (TACHS) and World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for South East Asia (SEARO), the workshop focused on strengthening the competence and compassion of the health workforce across South and Southeast Asia.
