Objective:The general objective of this study is to conduct a comprehensive review (‘landscape analysis') of the CHWs/CHW programmes currently operating in Bangladesh, including identification of the challenges and opportunities for strengthening the PHC services and health system resilience at the Upazila level (and below) in Bangladesh, in alignment with the national health goals.
More specifically, it aims to_
i) To conduct a comprehensive review of the CHW programmes (and activities) currently operating in Bangladesh in the public, private and NGO sectors.
ii) To review the roles and responsibilities of different cadres of CHWs in these programmes, including the factors affecting their integration into the mainstream health systems.
iii) To provide recommendations to strengthen CHWs’ contributions to strengthen the delivery of quality PHC services and facilitate health system resilience.
