Short Biography

Abdul Jabbar is a Deputy Project Coordinator at the BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, with nine years of experience. He specializes in field coordination, qualitative research, and project management, with a strong background in mass communication, training, and creative writing. Since 2022, he has been coordinating a research project titled 'The Adolescent Menstrual Experience and Health Cohort Study in Bangladesh (AMEHC)'.

Previously, he coordinated a nationwide survey on male youth SRHR in 2019-2020 and worked on a project using psychodrama as an educational intervention to reduce risky masculine behavior among young men in urban slum in Dhaka from 2016-2017. In addition to this, he has also worked as a coordinator and researcher on various research projects focusing on topics such as SRHR of early married girls, SRHR in humanitarian settings and host communities, COVID-19, Deworming, and NCDs.

Back in 2015, he worked as a Research Assistant at the BRAC Urban Development Program for one year. He visited 100+ slums and prepared a demographic profile of the slums in different cities in Bangladesh.

He is also a theater activist. He has designed and led various theatrical sessions on topics such as SRHR, gender, adolescent capacity building, and raising awareness among youth.

He believes in a society with equity.
