Short Biography
Dr. Farhana Afzal is a Research Medical Officer at JPGSPH. She graduated from Dinajpur Medical College & Hospital with an MBBS degree. She is skilled in medical treatment, supervising data collection, counselling study participants on medication and lifestyle modifications for NCDs. She coordinates one of the teams of NCD surveillance project. She has reviewed screening data of ten NCD surveillance clusters. Her current research project objectives are to strengthen NCD surveillance systems in Bangladesh, to provide nationally representative data on the burden of T2D, CVD and their risk factors and on the quality of care for these major NCDs to quantify needs in Bangladeshi populations. Earlier back in 2020-2021, she completed her internship from Dinajpur Medical College & Hospital. She is assisting in writing manuscripts that yet to submit in journal. She is interested in reading novels, listening music and gardening.
