Short Biography

Md. Rakib Akon is a research professional specializing in statistical data analysis, public health research, and health system evaluations. He currently serves as a Senior Research Assistant (Quantitative) at the BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, where he contributes to national and international projects on health system performance, policy research, and service delivery assessments.
Holding B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Statistics, Rakib is also pursuing a Master’s in Applied Statistics and Data Science at Jahangirnagar University. Skilled in Python, R, STATA, SPSS, and Excel, he has extensive experience in survey design, tool development, data quality control, and advanced statistical modeling. His work includes large-scale studies funded by the World Bank, WHO, USAID, British Academy, and UNICEF, with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
In addition to research, Rakib is passionate about academic mentoring and capacity building. He has served as a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Statistics, Govt. Titumir College, Dhaka, and has taught international graduate students in quantitative research methods, data analysis, and thesis support. Committed to data-driven insights and evidence-based decision-making, he aims to strengthen health systems through applied research and analytics.
