  2. Dr Sakib Rahman, Research Associate

Objective:

The objective of this study is to establish a nutrition-focused panel dataset and estimate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Hence, we will use the same data collection tool and report on the same indicators following the same methodology as 2018-19.

Therefore, we will report on:

  1. Nutrition status of all members of the household, stratified by age and gender.
  2. Food security, dietary diversity and infant and child feeding practices and nutrition practices during pregnancy and lactation.
  3. Behavioural and clinical risk factors (high intake of salt, consumption of tobacco products, physical inactivity, hypertension, obesity) among adolescents and adults.
  4. Water, sanitation, and hygiene practices
Moreover, using the panel data, we will be able to report on:
  1. Evolution of the above-mentioned nutrition indicators over time.
  2. Identify factors that contribute to a change in the nutrition status of individuals over time (e.g., time-series analysis using individual or household level fixed effects).
  3. Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the relevant outcomes.

Methodology: Quantitative, Panel data
