Short Biography
Abdul Jabbar is an Assistant Project Coordinator with six years of experience working at the BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University. He specializes in Field coordination, Qualitative research, Project management, Mass communication, Training, Opinion writing, and Innovative script writing. His current research project titled: Adolescent Menstrual Experience and Health Cohort Study in Bangladesh (AMEHC) and Effective Digital Health Platform for Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) Services: A Mixed-methods Approach to Understanding User Experiences, Needs, and Rights in Bangladesh. Previously, in 2019 he coordinated a nation-wide survey on male youth SRHR and in 2016-2017 he worked in a project titled: Psychodrama as transformative intervention in the SRH of young men in urban slums in Dhaka; proof of a novel approach. Where psychodrama used as an educational module to reduce risky masculine behavior of young men in urban slum. Back in 2015, he worked as a Research Assistant at BRAC Urban Development Program for one year. He visited 100+ slums and prepared demographic profile of the slums at different cities in Bangladesh. He completed his MSS in the department of Government and Politics from Jahangirnagar University. He is a public health researcher as well as a theatre activist. His research interests are Gender and GBV, SRHR, Menstrual health, Mental health, Health system and local government, Women in politics, Women empowerment, and Migration. He believes in a society with equity.
