Short Biography
Dr. Sabiha M Khan is a Senior Research Associate at the BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH), BRAC University, with a strong background in clinical medicine and public health research. She holds an MPH from BRAC JPGSPH (2021) and an MBBS from the University of Dhaka (2018).
Dr. Khan’s work focuses on the intersection of health and environmental factors, particularly how climate change impacts health outcomes in vulnerable populations. She is currently involved in research examining the effects of extreme heat and salinity intrusion on nutrition, mental health, and maternal and child health in Bangladesh’s most climate-affected regions. Her research aims to deepen understanding of how environmental stressors influence disease burden, healthcare access, and overall well-being.
With hands-on experience in both clinical settings and field-based research, Dr. Khan has worked with diverse and underserved communities across Bangladesh. This has given her a comprehensive perspective on healthcare challenges in low-resource environments. She also specializes in participatory research methods, including Participatory Action Research (PAR), to co-develop solutions that are community-driven and evidence-based.
Through her interdisciplinary work, Dr. Khan contributes to advancing resilient health systems and promoting equitable healthcare, especially in the face of increasing climate-related health risks.
