Short Biography
Munia Afroz is a Senior Research
Associate whose work focuses on maternal, child, and adolescent nutrition,
infant and young child feeding (IYCF), stunting, dietary diversity, nutrition
profile models, and the process documentation of nutrition-specific and
nutrition-sensitive services, particularly in refugee and ultra-poor contexts.
She completed a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Bangladesh
College of Home Economics, University of Dhaka, and a Master of Public Health
from North South University.
She has mentored MPH students in
their thesis work and contributes to advancing public health nutrition research
through capacity building and supervision. With over four years of experience
in nutrition and non-communicable disease research, she has developed expertise
in both field- and policy-level nutrition studies.
Her research interests lie in
strengthening evidence to inform effective strategies for reducing
malnutrition, improving dietary practices, and addressing the unique nutrition
challenges of vulnerable populations.
