Short Biography
Ashik Barua is a Research Assistant at BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, with academic training in Anthropology (BSS and MSS) from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. He has worked on multi-country and interdisciplinary research projects with institutions including Vanderbilt University, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and the University of Montreal. His experience spans participatory and ethnographic methods, youth engagement, photovoice, body mapping, and community-led analysis. Ashik has contributed to projects on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), climate justice and adaptation, psychosocial disabilities, and public health communication. He is particularly interested in research that bridges anthropology and public health, centering the voices of marginalized communities in shaping policy and practice.
