Short Biography
Mr. Md. Jahedul Islam has completed his bachelor and masters in Anthropology from the University of Chittagong. Currently he is working as a full time Research Assistant at BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University. Before that, he has served BRAC, GAGE, MGR and Bath University as a Research Assistant for last three years. He has had experiences in Gender based violence, Climate change impacts, Health system resilience, Disaster risk reduction, Communities of Practice, Pandemics preparedness, Civil registration and vital statistics while doing different research projects across the country. He has been awarded with the Best Writer recognition at regional and national level for two consecutive years. Till date he has published more than 40 articles (letter, feature, column) in different national dailies of Bangladesh both in Bangla and English. He has assisted a project named 'Community of Practice for Transdisciplinary Research and Action in Climate Change and Health in Asia' as a Co-focal person. Along with that, he has been associated with some other projects like 'Civil Registration and Vital Statistics', 'Community Support Team' and 'Pandemic Preparedness' so far. Furthermore, he has served as the field facilitator in the module of Qualitative Research Methodology of Public Health Programs in the MPH program of JPGSPH.
